In the first half of this year, WhatsApp will release 11 new features that will make users feel more at home.
Although we don’t know when exactly these features will be released to users publicly, some have started to appear on WhatsApp Beta iOS.
WhatsApp knows very well that the presence of these features will help various groups when using their application for daily messaging activities.
“Organizations such as schools, local clubs, and non-profit organizations now rely on WhatsApp to communicate securely, especially as the pandemic is forcing us all to find creative ways to work together when apart,” WhatsApp said. 2022).
One of them is the Communities feature, which WhatsApp claims make it easier for school principals to gather parents to share announcements, including forming groups about certain classes, extracurricular activities, and other activities.
Here are some of the features that will be coming to WhatsApp in the near future.
The emoji reactions that were originally on Facebook will be brought by Meta to WhatsApp. With this feature, users can react to messages with emoticons.
Later, you just need to tap and hold on to the message you want to react to, then slide your finger over the emoji you want to send. This reaction will appear below the text and will be visible to all members of the chat group.
This feature will allow users to unite separate groups under one umbrella with a structure that suits them.
Users can receive updates sent across the Community and easily set up smaller discussion groups about what matters to them. Simply put, in a group, there will be a feature to create small groups.
In this Community feature, there will be new tools for admins, including announcement messages that can be sent to all members and also control to include a group.
New tool for Admin: delete other group member’s messages
With this update, WhatsApp group admins can delete problematic messages from other users. Currently, the delete message feature is only present for the sender, but later this feature can be done by group admins.
Share files up to 2GB
WhatsApp will support sending files up to 2GB in a future update. Of course, this feature will be good news so that users don’t have to worry about reducing the size when sending files.
Currently, WhatsApp only allows sharing of 100MB files in one go.
Group voice calls for up to 32 users
Voice calls on WhatsApp will have a wider reach, because this platform can make group calls of up to 32 people. In addition, WhatsApp also changes the design of the application window during group voice calls.
This platform adds a sound waveform for all participants during a group call. The shape of this sound wave is similar to that seen in the voice note feature.
Pause and resume voice note recording feature
WhatsApp users can now pause and resume voice messages while recording, so there’s no need to start over again when there’s a recording glitch or error. A new pause option will also be visible in hands-free voice recording mode.
Hearing the voice note from the last position stops
WhatsApp users no longer need to re-hear voice notes when there are words that they feel they don’t understand or don’t hear clearly, because WhatsApp can pause voice messages and resume them from where they stopped.
A very useful feature for hearing long voice notes.
Hear voice notes from outside the application
WhatsApp’s new feature will also make it easier for us when we want to hear voice messages from outside the application. Users no longer need to wait for voice messages in the chat room when they hear the voice note until it’s finished.
So later, this voice note can be heard when replying to messages from other chats, or when using other applications.
Voice note wave design
This feature has started to appear on WhatsApp, and the design of the voice note is even more flexible because users can see a visual representation of the sound in the voice note.
WhatsApp also introduced this wave-shaped design in voice calls.
Rehearse the voice note before sending
Finally, the voice note feature that users have been waiting for is now here on WhatsApp, we can re-listen to voice messages before they are sent to other users to find out whether this message is clear or not or to check for errors or not.
This feature will work in conjunction with the new pause and resume feature for voice note recordings.
Voice note fast playback
WhatsApp also offers the option to play voice messages faster at 1.5x or 2x speed and you can listen to them faster.
This 1x speed button can already be seen in the voice note player, you can tap this new button to change the playback speed of voice messages.
